
EFCC SEIZES TRUCKS OF ILLEGAL SOLID MINERALS IN BENUE
Benue State’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Makurdi Zonal Directorate has stopped eight trucks that may have been transporting solid minerals that had been mined illegally.
To stop the widespread illegal mining activities in the state, the Benue State government has taken strong action.
This was revealed in a statement by EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewole.
He said the seizure took place in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area.

“The minerals, suspected to be fluorite and iron stones, were allegedly extracted from unauthorized mining sites in Logo LGA.”
Oyewole stated that investigations are still in progress and that individuals involved will be prosecuted after they are finished.
