
FAKE WOMAN VIO CAUGHT, CHARGED FOR JOB SCAM
In Adamawa State, a woman was detained for reportedly engaging in employment racketeering and impersonating a vehicle inspection officer (VIO).
The woman, Face Samuel, was detained on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, according to a statement released Wednesday morning by the Nigeria Police’s Adamawa State Command.
The suspect repeatedly pretended to be a VIO and deceived multiple persons, according to a statement from the command.
According to the statement, Friday Adamu, Abel Samuel, Evlyne Amos, and Blessing Kefas were the victims, from whom the woman obtained N350,000 under the guise of finding them work at the Adamawa State Ministry of Transportation’s Vehicle Inspection Office.
According to the statement, which was signed by the state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, “The suspect confessed to committing the crime and further disclosed that the VIO’s uniform used in the fraudulent act was given to her by a yet to be identified person.”
According to Nguroje, CP Dankombo Morris, the state commissioner of police, has promised a thorough investigation to find further potential victims and accomplices in Face Samuel’s crime.
