JUST IN: BANDITS ABDUCT CATHOLIC PRIEST IN KADUNA
In Kurmin Risga, Kaduna State’s Kauru Local Government Area, bandits have kidnapped Rev. Fr Ibrahim Amos, a Catholic priest.
At approximately 12:15 a.m. on Thursday, the incident took place.
The priest was taken from his home in Kurmin Risga’s St Gerald Quasi Parish.
In a press release on Thursday, Rev. Fr Jacob Shanet, the Chancellor of the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, confirmed the kidnapping.
According to him, the development was quite depressing.
He urged everyone to pray for the cleric’s safe return.
“We solicit your prayers for his quick and safe release,” Shanet said.
“We invite the general public to remain calm and avoid taking the law into their own hands,” he added, stressing that every legitimate and available means will be deployed to ensure that the cleric returns unharmed and in good health.
Efforts to reach the Kaduna State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Mansir Hassan, were unsuccessful as he did not respond to calls as of the time of filing this report.
