The Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Oyo State, Dr. Mutiu Olaleke Agboke, has charged Electoral Officers (EOs) and Heads of Departments (HODs) across the state to intensify public sensitization ahead of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.

Speaking during a management meeting with the officials, Dr. Agboke commended their dedication and outreach efforts, which have included visits to religious centres and traditional palaces. He noted that such engagements are critical to building public trust and creating awareness, especially as the online registration begins on August 18, 2025, and physical registration on August 25, 2025.

The REC also urged EOs to maintain strict supervision of their staff while fostering a peaceful and cooperative work environment. According to him, a harmonious workplace boosts morale, enhances responsibility, and strengthens accountability among personnel.

On security, Dr. Agboke stressed the need for closer collaboration with security agencies to ensure smooth electoral operations and the protection of all stakeholders.

He further reiterated the Commission’s commitment to inclusivity, directing EOs to provide necessary support to Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) during the CVR exercise to guarantee their unhindered participation in the electoral process.

The meeting concluded with a renewed pledge from participants to uphold transparency, inclusivity, and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
