The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has celebrated the remarkable feat of Assistant Comptroller of Customs, Akpevwe Ogboru, popularly known as Tracta 2, who successfully completed a 35-day motorbike expedition from Nigeria to Belgium.

Ogboru set out on August 1, 2025, and rode across two continents and 10 countries, covering an estimated 10,265 kilometres before arriving at the Nigerian Embassy in Brussels at 12:47 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2025.

According to a statement issued by the NCS National Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Maiwada, the adventure themed “Ride for Women Inclusivity and Cross-Border Research”  was aimed at promoting gender inclusivity, empowering the girl child, and fostering cultural exchange.

“Her extraordinary journey marks a bold demonstration of courage, resilience, and purposeful advocacy,” the Service said.

Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, praised Ogboru’s accomplishment as a symbol of strength and determination, noting that her success was a source of national pride and an inspiration for Nigerian women breaking barriers in male-dominated fields.

“Assistant Comptroller Ogboru’s accomplishment stands as a beacon of inspiration to Customs officers, Nigerians, and the global community. With determination and vision, boundaries can indeed be transcended,” Adeniyi said.

The NCS noted that beyond promoting inclusivity and research, the ride also strengthened bilateral ties and projected a positive image of Nigeria internationally.

As Ogboru prepares for her return journey to Nigeria, the Customs Service reaffirmed its support for initiatives that promote resilience, innovation, and inclusivity, while encouraging Nigerians to pursue bold, nation-building endeavours.
