FG SECURES RELEASE OF 100 ABDUCTED NIGER PUPILS FROM ST. MARY’S SCHOOL

The Federal Government has secured the release of 100 pupils abducted from St. Mary’s Private Catholic Primary and Secondary School in Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State.
The development was reported on Sunday by TVC News and Channels Television, although federal authorities have yet to issue an official statement as of press time.
Armed men had invaded the remote community on November 21, storming the school on motorbikes around 2 a.m. and operating unhindered for nearly three hours. During the attack, they abducted 315 people 303 students and 12 teachers.
Within the first 24 hours of the incident, about 50 pupils managed to escape and were reunited with their families, reducing the number of victims in captivity to 265.
Details surrounding the release of the 100 pupils, including the circumstances and ongoing rescue efforts for the remaining captives, are still emerging.
