The Police Service Commission (PSC) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have announced a two-week extension for the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 constables.

In a statement on Monday, PSC Spokesman Torty Njoku revealed that the commission has received over 400,000 applications for the vacancies.

“The application portal, which opened on 15th December 2025, has now been extended to close on 8th February 2026,” Njoku said.

He explained that the decision follows a review highlighting significant disparities in applications across states. While states such as Adamawa, Benue, and Kaduna recorded high numbers of applicants, states including Lagos, Ogun, Bayelsa, Ebonyi, and Anambra had notably fewer submissions.

“The extension aims to ensure equitable representation nationwide. All eligible Nigerians, particularly from states with lower application numbers, are strongly encouraged to apply via the official portal: www.npfapplication.psc.gov.ng,” Njoku added.

He also called on state governments, local councils, sociocultural organizations, religious bodies, and community leaders to mobilize and sensitize eligible citizens to submit their applications before the new deadline.

“The PSC and NPF reaffirm their commitment to a fair, transparent, and inclusive recruitment process,” the statement concluded.
