CUBANA CHIEF PRIEST CLAIMS DAVIDO’S GRAMMY LOSS WAS DELIBERATE, URGES HIM TO STAY STRONG

Nigerian socialite Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has alleged that Afrobeats superstar Davido’s recent loss at the 2026 Grammy Awards was a deliberate attempt by some music executives to pressure him into “demonic activities.”
The award for Best African Music Performance, held on Sunday night at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena, went to South African singer Tyla for her hit song Push 2 Start from the album Tyla. Davido was nominated alongside Tyla, Burna Boy (Love), Ayra Starr, Wizkid (Gimme Dat), Eddy Kenzo, and Mehran Matin (Hope & Love).
Reacting on Instagram, Cubana Chief Priest linked Davido’s loss to his refusal to align with Western music industry practices he described as “demonic,” encouraging the singer to stay focused on entertaining his fans regardless of award outcomes.
He wrote: “Oyibo dey do everything possible to break a strong man so he can do their demonic sh*t with them but he will never do ot. Heads up brother, open the bag and drop another hot one for us. E no dey finish, gbedu na water.”
Tyla’s win marks her second Grammy, having previously won in 2024 for her hit single Water.
