AKINFENWA: MAKINDE COMMANDS STRONG GRIP ON PDP IN OYO STATE

A political scientist, Akinwunmi Akinfenwa, has stated that Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde maintains full and firm control of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
Akinfenwa made the remarks on Wednesday during an interview with the Media.
He noted, “While we can acknowledge that FCT Minister Nyesom Wike is politically strong, when it comes to Ibadan and Oyo State politics, credit must go to Governor Seyi Makinde.
“President Tinubu’s recent comments on the Rivers crisis reflect pragmatism. Wike performed strongly in 2023 and has a solid grip on the grassroots in Rivers State.

“The President is aware of this and wants to maintain a working relationship with him, keeping 2027 in mind as the presidential election approaches.
“Politics can be harsh, but there’s little anyone can do to change these realities,” Akinfenwa added.
