The feud between Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has escalated further.

According to Media, the two leaders are locked in a bitter struggle over control of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), sparking divisions within the party at both federal and state levels.

The crisis between the Wike and Makinde factions of the PDP in Oyo State took a new turn when the Chairman of Ibadan North Local Government, Seun Onifade, dismissed several officials loyal to former Deputy Governor Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi.

Gbolarumi, a key figure in the Wike-led faction in the state, had recently attended a meeting of the faction in Abuja. Following this, Onifade, who serves under the Makinde administration, moved to remove the former deputy governor’s loyalists from their positions.

In a letter obtained by The Media on Friday, Onifade informed Olaniyi Stephen that his dismissal takes immediate effect, warning him against continuing to present himself as a council official.

“I wish to refer to the above subject and inform you that your appointment as Assistant Secretary in Ibadan North Local Government has been terminated with immediate effect,” the letter stated. “You are enjoined henceforth to desist from parading yourself as Assistant Secretary in the Local Government.”
