SEVERAL JOURNALISTS WOUNDED IN BAUCHI ROAD ACCIDENT

Several journalists who were reporting on the North East Development Commission’s project handover in Bauchi State were involved in a road accident on Friday and got hurt.

These journalists came from different media outlets and were part of a group led by the Minister of State for Regional Development, Uba Maigari.
The group was there to hand over completed projects to the Bauchi State Government.

The accident happened on the Yashi–Yelwan Duguri Road in Alkaleri Local Government Area, right after the team completed the commissioning of a Government Secondary School in Yelwan Duguri.

Many reporters and camera crew members were injured in the crash, with some suffering more serious injuries than others.

They were first taken to Yelwan Duguri General Hospital for immediate treatment and then moved to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital and Bauchi Specialist Hospital for more care.

Among those hurt were media workers from Channels Television, African Independent Television, Nigerian Television Authority, Arise Television, and members of the Correspondents’ Chapel from other organizations.
