Along with the changes in leadership, the APC increased the committee‘s membership from 73 to 90 members. This was done to include more people who are important to the party.

New members have been added to the committee, including Senator Barry Mpigi and other well–known leaders from the ruling party.
The APC stated that these changes are part of a new setup for the 2026 National Convention Central Coordination Committee.
The party explained that the update was done to show fair representation and handle other important plans for the upcoming national convention.
