FAME IS DANGEROUS WITHOUT PROPER GUIDANCE – IYANYA

Nigerian musician Iyanya has explained how he has successfully sustained a positive public image throughout his 17-year career.
Speaking on a recent episode of the Afropolitan podcast, the singer said he deliberately places himself under guidance and accountability to stay grounded.
According to him, fame without proper direction is “fake,” adding that every entertainer or public figure needs guidance to channel their influence in a positive way.
“I have been able to maintain a positive presence in the public eye for 17 years because of guidance. If I could advise my younger self, I would say not to take things personally, because every famous person or entertainer needs guidance.
“You need one, two, or even three people in your life to keep you grounded, because fame moves fast and much of it isn’t real. You might walk into a President’s office, and he’ll know your name and sing your song—but it’s not permanent. That same person, if you’re not in the spotlight two or three years later, may not even remember you unless someone reminds them about your meeting,” he explained.
Iyanya urged other celebrities to submit themselves to guidance and seek counsel from trusted people in their lives. He stressed that such mentors or advisors provide moral support and direction through every stage of their careers.
