The Dangote Group has reaffirmed its commitment to fostering industrialisation, reducing import dependence, creating jobs, and driving shared prosperity in Nigeria and across Africa.

This was disclosed on Thursday by the Executive Director of Commercial Operations, Fatima Aliko-Dangote, who was represented by the Regional Sales Director, Lagos, Tunde Mabogunje, during Dangote Day at the ongoing 15th Gateway Trade Fair organised by the Ogun Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (OGUNCCIMA) in Abeokuta.

Aliko-Dangote noted that the trade fair, themed “Promoting Businesses through Partnership,” aligns with the core values of the conglomerate and reflects its Vision 2030 roadmap to accelerate industrial expansion, attract cross-border investments, and enhance regional competitiveness.

“Our participation this year dovetails with Dangote Vision 2030, our enterprise-wide plan to accelerate industrial expansion, spur cross-border investments, and reduce import dependence in strategic sectors,” she said.

Highlighting Dangote’s investments in Ogun State, she disclosed that the Ibese cement plant, with a 12 million metric tonnes per annum capacity, anchors local supply, exports, and jobs, while a new 6 million metric tonnes per annum integrated cement plant at Itori is under construction to deepen supply chain linkages and boost exports to West Africa.

Aliko-Dangote also outlined plans for the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, which is set to expand from 650,000 barrels per day to 1.4 million barrels per day within three years, a move aimed at strengthening regional energy security and scaling allied industries, including polypropylene.

In food production, she highlighted the $2.5 billion Urea fertiliser complex in Gode, Ethiopia, in partnership with Ethiopian Investment Holdings, designed for up to 3 million metric tonnes per annum to boost agricultural productivity and regional exports.

“All of these investments are proof that policy consistency plus private sector execution is the formula for sustained competitiveness, job creation, and economic growth,” she added.

During the trade fair, which runs from February 12 to 16, visitors to the Dangote Pavilion can purchase cement, sugar, salt, fertiliser, rice, Sinotrucks, and other products at discounted prices, while exploring partnership opportunities in distribution, logistics, retail, and project supply.

Aliko-Dangote also praised Governor Dapo Abiodun for creating an enabling business environment and lauded OGUNCCIMA for their professionalism and consistency in hosting the annual trade fair, which she said helps spur business growth in Ogun State.

OGUNCCIMA Chairman Niyi Oshiyemi described Dangote Day as more than a ceremonial recognition, but a source of inspiration for entrepreneurs, investors, and young Nigerians aiming to build sustainable businesses. He added that the group’s continued support highlights the vital role of public–private partnerships in economic diversification, infrastructure development, and financial growth across key sectors.
