FG VOWS TO WORK CLOSELY WITH STATES ON EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The Federal Ministry of Education has reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with state governments to ensure every Nigerian child has access to quality education.

In a statement on Sunday, signed by the Director of Press & Public Relations, Boriowo Folasade, Minister of Education Tunji Alausa said the government will strengthen federal–state collaboration to address the challenge of out-of-school children.

Praising the Committee of States’ Commissioners of Education in Nigeria for hosting its first peer-learning webinar, Alausa described the initiative as “timely and aligned with the Renewed Hope Agenda, reinforcing the Ministry’s mandate to guarantee access to high-quality education for every Nigerian child.”

He added that tackling the out-of-school children issue requires “coordinated reforms, shared accountability, and evidence-based interventions across all levels of government,” emphasizing that “the complementary role of the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education in supporting targeted programmes cannot be overlooked.”

The minister also emphasized the importance of “harmonised implementation, data-driven planning, and continuous knowledge exchange” to ensure effective interventions at the state level.

According to the statement, the webinar will include presentations from Gombe State and the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education, providing practical insights and a national perspective to guide policy implementation.

Alausa concluded that the Federal Government “remains committed to working collaboratively with states to ensure inclusive, equitable, and quality education for all Nigerian children.”
