Ademola Adeleke, Governor of Osun State, has instructed officials to fast-track the execution of key infrastructure projects across the state, emphasizing that there is no room for distractions in governance.

According to a statement by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the directive was issued on Sunday night during a review meeting with officials supervising ongoing projects in major towns including Ila Orangun, Iwo, Ile Ife, Ilesa, Osogbo, and Ikirun.

Governor Adeleke urged project supervisors to ensure timely completion of mega projects across the state, stressing that the pace of governance must be maintained to serve the best interests of the people. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering tangible democratic dividends to all communities.

“I have been carrying out secret supervisions of many ongoing projects. I am impressed with the performance of our team. I saw their sleepless nights,” the governor noted.

He highlighted that residents of Ila Orangun would soon begin using the new dual carriageway, a key part of the state’s infrastructure modernization efforts. He also expressed optimism about the transformation of Ile-Ife, describing the historic town as set to emerge as a renewed urban centre under ongoing development initiatives.

Commenting on projects in Iwo, Adeleke said residents are already witnessing the benefits of modernization, adding that Osogbo and other towns are experiencing significant infrastructural upgrades. He reiterated that the administration would continue its efforts without relent.

“We must sustain the tempo and deliver on these projects without distractions. We should not give our detractors any breathing space. Our answer to their shenanigans should be more delivery of democratic dividends,” the governor stated.

Adeleke further directed all contractors handling state projects to intensify their work, warning against delays that could undermine public expectations.

“So I hereby direct my team to continue to be up and doing. All contractors are directed to double up. Osun people have strong faith in us. We won’t allow any contractor to dash or slow down the hope of our people,” he added.
