With growing problems in the Middle East after some military action between Israel and Iran, the airline Emirates has said it will start flying again on the Dubai-Lagos-Dubai route.

Emirates said it will begin flights between Dubai and Lagos on Friday, March 6, 2026, after stopping them last week because of issues with the airspace caused by the conflict.

Sources confirm to the press that the flights are mainly to help Nigerian people who are stuck in the UAE go back home.

Many other airlines in the Middle East also stopped their flights after several countries closed their airspace because of attacks by the US and Israel on Iranian targets.

The US President, Donald Trump, described the attacks as a major combat operation, a development that forced global airlines to reroute flights that typically pass through the Middle East corridor.

The disruptions significantly affected long-haul routes connecting Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America, with airlines scrambling to adjust schedules amid safety concerns.

The ongoing conflict has forced airlines worldwide to avoid certain airspace corridors after missiles were launched from Israel toward Iran, followed by retaliatory strikes by Iranian forces.

Airlines have had to cancel or change many flights, including those connecting India, the United Kingdom, Europe, the Middle East, and North America.

At first, Emirates stopped all its flights and said it was keeping an eye on the situation while staying in touch with aviation officials to figure out when it would be safe to start flying again.

The airline also told travelers to check their travel updates and flight status on its website before going to the airport.

But in a message to its partners in Nigeria, Emirates said it was bringing back its flights to Lagos.
“We will be flying the Dubai–Lagos–Dubai route (EK783 & EK784) on 6th March 2026,” the airline said.

Emirates said the return of flights gives travelers a chance to go ahead with their trips after a period of uncertainty caused by the crisis.

The airline also said that there is likely to be a big increase in demand for seats, so travelers are urged to book quickly.
“This flight resumption gives customers a great chance to travel,” the airline added.

It also mentioned, “Emirates is still watching the situation and will adjust our plans as neededThe most up-to-date flight information will be posted on our website.
