FIVE FAMILY MEMBERS KILLED IN ROAD ACCIDENT ON DAMATURU–MAIDUGURI HIGHWAY

No fewer than five members of the same family have tragically lost their lives in a road accident along the Damaturu–Maiduguri highway in Yobe State.
The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, involved residents of Potiskum Local Government Area and has plunged the community into mourning.
A relative of the victims, Dahiru Musa Talba, confirmed the tragedy on his Facebook page, stating that three other family members sustained injuries and were rushed to the General Hospital, Damaturu for treatment. “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. My mom has died,” he wrote, describing the loss as devastating.
Confirming the accident, the Yobe State Police Command Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, said the crash involved five fatalities and several injured persons. He added that an investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident.
The deceased have been identified as Hajjagana Dahiru Zayi, Ibrahim Dahiru Zayi, Muhammad Dahiru Zayi, Hauwa Dahiru Zayi, and another family member.
Residents have described the tragedy as heartbreaking and urged motorists to exercise caution along the busy highway to prevent further loss of lives.
