A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, Daniel Onjeh, has congratulated Governor Hyacinth Alia on his 60th birthday, describing him as a courageous, compassionate and visionary leader whose administration has brought renewed hope to the people of the state.
Onjeh, the APC senatorial candidate for Benue South in the 2023 elections and a 2027 aspirant, said the governor’s life at 60 reflects sacrifice, discipline, bravery and a strong dedication to public service.
The former chairman of the Governing Board of the Projects Development Institute, Enugu, said Governor Alia has shown uncommon leadership ability within a short time in office, especially in addressing tough challenges and standing up for the interests of ordinary citizens.
He noted that the governor’s humility, simplicity and closeness to the grassroots have earned him wide admiration, as many residents now view him as a leader who understands their struggles and is committed to improving their welfare.
Onjeh also said the governor has demonstrated courage in making difficult decisions and confronting entrenched interests in the pursuit of justice, peace and development in Benue State.
He praised the administration’s efforts in infrastructure development, security, workers’ welfare, rural inclusion and governance reforms, noting that these initiatives continue to build public confidence despite existing challenges.
The former president of the National Association of Nigerian Students described Governor Alia as a conviction-driven leader guided by conscience rather than political theatrics, saying his leadership has restored hope among many residents seeking purposeful governance.
He added that the governor’s 60th birthday offers an opportunity to reflect on leadership, sacrifice, public service and the need to strengthen institutions while rebuilding public trust.
Onjeh prayed for continued wisdom, strength, good health and divine guidance for the governor as he continues to lead the state.
“Your courage, resilience, simplicity and commitment to justice continue to inspire many of us who believe in a better Benue. At sixty, you have proven that leadership anchored on conviction, compassion and fear of God can still make a difference in society,” he said.
