FC Barcelona have confirmed that veteran striker Robert Lewandowski will leave the club at the end of the season, bringing an end to a successful four-year spell in the blaugrana colours.
In a statement released on Saturday, Barcelona paid glowing tribute to the Polish forward for his goals, leadership, and winning mentality throughout his time at the club.
“Came as a star. Leaves as legend.
“Thank you, Robert Lewandowski, for every goal, every battle, and every magic moment wearing these colours. Culer forever. 💙❤️” the club stated.
Barcelona added, “Robert Lewandowski will bring his time as an FC Barcelona player to an end at the close of the season. The Polish striker is departing after four seasons in the blaugrana jersey, having made his mark with goals, leadership, and an exemplary competitive mentality.”
Lewandowski joined Barcelona from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2022 and immediately established himself as the focal point of the club’s attack during a rebuilding phase.
Born in Warsaw on August 21, 1988, the striker arrived in Catalonia after an illustrious European career and quickly proved his quality at the Camp Nou.
During his debut 2022/23 campaign, Lewandowski played a crucial role in helping Barcelona win both La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup. He scored 33 goals in 46 matches across all competitions and finished as La Liga’s top scorer with 23 goals, winning the Pichichi Trophy.
Across four seasons, Lewandowski scored 119 goals in 191 appearances, making him Barcelona’s 14th-highest goalscorer of all time.
His most prolific campaign came in 2024/25, when he netted 42 goals in 52 appearances, including 27 league goals—just two behind Kylian Mbappé in the Pichichi race. He also scored 26 goals in the 2023/24 season, while he currently has 18 this term.
Beyond his goal-scoring exploits, Barcelona praised Lewandowski’s professionalism, leadership, and influence on younger players in the dressing room.
During his time at the club, he won seven trophies—three La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey, and three Spanish Super Cups.
Barcelona said the striker leaves behind “an unforgettable legacy” at both Montjuïc and Spotify Camp Nou, adding that his trademark celebration had become iconic among supporters.
Lewandowski now departs the Catalan giants as one of the defining figures of the club’s modern era.
