SENATOR AHMED WADADA EMERGES APC GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE IN NASARAWA STATE

Senator Ahmed Wadada, representing Nasarawa West Senatorial District, has been declared the winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in Nasarawa State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The announcement was made on Friday in Lafia by the Chairman of the APC Governorship Primary Election Committee in the state, Prof. Theodore Maiyaki.

According to the committee, Wadada secured the highest number of valid votes cast across all 147 electoral wards in the 13 local government areas of the state, defeating six other aspirants in a closely monitored primary exercise.

Maiyaki stated that Wadada polled a total of 195,285 votes to clinch the party’s governorship ticket.

He added that other aspirants recorded the following results: Tanimu Adabson (65 votes), Dr Fatima Abdullahi-Adamu (246 votes), Dr Hassan Liman (863 votes), Dr Zakka Yakubu (336 votes), Prof. Mohammed Sani-Haruna (5,844 votes), and former Inspector-General of Police Mohammed Adamu (39,675 votes).

The committee chairman explained that accreditation and collation processes were conducted under strict supervision to ensure transparency and credibility.

He further confirmed that, having met all requirements of the APC constitution and electoral guidelines, Wadada was duly returned as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Nasarawa State.
