UPDATE: ATIKU MEETS WITH WIKE AFTER PDP PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY
Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate, met with Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike in Abuja on Monday, according to reports.
On Saturday night, Atiku defeated Wike in the party’s presidential primary in Abuja.
Atiku received 371 delegates’ votes, while his nearest rival (Wike) received 237 votes.
The goal of Monday’s meeting, according to reports, was to reconcile the two party leaders and give the PDP a strong showing against the ruling All Progressives Congress in the 2023 presidential election.
Former Ekiti State Governor and PDP presidential hopeful Ayodele Fayose, among other PDP leaders, attended the gathering.
