NYSC DIRECTOR-GENERAL ENCOURAGES EMPLOYERS ON CORPERS’ WELFARE
By Sumayyah Olapade
The Director-General of the National Youths Service Corps, Mohammed Fadah, has urged employers of labor to accept corps members posted to their organisations.
He stressed that it would inspire them to be devoted if they took the welfare, security of life, and property of corps members seriously.
At the temporary orientation camp in the Gombe State local government area’s Amada Akko Local Government Area, Fadah made this request during the closing ceremony for the Batch B Stream I corps members.
According to our correspondent, 1,240 corps members—including 903 men and 337 women—have successfully finished the required three-week camp training and have subsequently been sent to their Places of Primary Assignment.
The DG emphasized the need to exhibit patriotism to the nation and their immediate environment when speaking about the next stage of life for the 1,240 Batch B Stream I corps members, harping that defaulters will be meted out the proper consequences.
“My dear compatriots, I urge you to uphold the spirit of patriotism, hard effort, and resilience which you ingrained throughout the Orientation Course as you enter the next portion of the service year. It is my sincere hope that you will work hard to live up to Nigerians’ aspirations by making a positive difference in the growth and development of our country.
But I must stress that you are not allowed to participate in their local politics. Additionally, I implore you to engage in both individual and group Community Development Service initiatives that will aid in raising the level of living in your host towns, said Fadah.
