AGAIN, 4 ABDUCTED IN KWARA COMMUNITY

A group of around ten terrorists attacked the old town of Kakafu in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State on Sunday morning, taking four people hostage in a new assault.
It was found out that the bandits shot their guns into the air now and then to make people scared, which made the residents run away in different directions. During the confusion, four people who were trying to get away were said to have been caught and taken to a nearby forest. People close to the town said the victims‘ names hadn’t been officially shared when this report was written, but most are thought to be women. A person who didn’t want to be named confirmed the event, saying that a lot of local people have gone to nearby places for safety.
“The attack is another disturbing sign of the worsening security situation in rural parts of the state, where armed groups now operate with little resistance,” the source said.
The Sunday abduction came less than 24 hours after another violent incident in the area. On Saturday, suspected bandits attacked a vigilante and community guards’ checkpoint along Gamji Road in Gbugbu.
