England manager Thomas Tuchel and his players were due to land in Kansas City on Saturday afternoon, with the equipment expected to be in place at the training facility before their arrival.
Police officers responded to the incident on Friday night and are working alongside FA officials as inquiries continue. Reports indicate that two suspects have already been arrested in connection with the alleged theft.
A spokesperson for Kansas police confirmed the investigation, saying: “We are investigating a possible theft of equipment from a team vehicle that arrived in Kansas City with items missing this evening. The investigation is ongoing.”
The incident has sparked concerns over its potential impact on England’s preparations for their opening World Cup fixture against Croatia on Wednesday, depending on the amount of equipment lost.
Despite the setback, England are expected to maintain their planned schedule, with the squad set to hold its first full training session on Sunday as Tuchel intensifies preparations for the tournament opener.
