The Adamawa State Police Command has commenced an investigation into the death of a 27-year-old law student of the Nigerian Law School, Yola Campus, identified as Ojajuni Ayomiposi.

In a statement issued on Sunday night by the command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the police confirmed that the deceased, an indigene of Ondo State, was found unconscious after jumping over the school fence into the hostel premises.

According to the statement, the incident occurred on December 6, 2025, at about 11:30 a.m., when Ojajuni reportedly returned to the campus aboard a tricycle in a visibly unstable condition. He was said to have jumped over the perimeter fence before being discovered by a security guard who found him vomiting and unconscious.

He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention but was later confirmed dead while receiving treatment.

The police said the remains of the deceased have been deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy as part of ongoing investigations to determine the exact cause of death.

Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Dankombo Morris, has ordered a thorough and transparent probe into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.

The death is considered unprecedented, as this is the first recorded case of a student’s death at the Nigerian Law School, Yola Campus, since it was established nearly two decades ago.
