Pat Utomi, a political economist and co-convener of the National Consultative Front (NCFront), has stood aside to allow Mr Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra state, to become the Labour Party’s presidential candidate.

Utomi announced his choice at the party’s national convention on Monday.

The former governor of Anambra State recently joined the Labour Party.

Obi joined the LP after resigning from the People’s Democratic Party, despite being a presidential candidate for the party.

Obi stated that he resigned because he believes in cultivating a nation of producers rather than consumers.
