A video of Oluomo telling non-APC voters to stay at home on election day if they weren’t going to vote for his chosen party went viral days before the Lagos gubernatorial elections.

Experienced singer Charles Oputa, also known as Charly Boy, has criticized rich siblings Kcee and Emeka Okonkwo (commonly known as E-Money) for hanging out with the divisive Musiliu ‘MC Oluomo’ Akinsanya, who is the chairman of the Lagos State Parks Management Committee.

MC Oluomo was recently welcomed into the Lagos mansion of Kcee and E-Money, where they handed him drinks and cash while referring to him as “a great and powerful man.”

Charly Boy expressed his displeasure on Twitter on Thursday, saying the brothers should not have honored MC Oluomo because he allegedly intimidated and incited violence against Igbos in Lagos during the most recent elections.

He shared the video of their now-famous encounter and stated, “MC Oluomo insinuated Igbos in Lagos. even ran a campaign that resulted in Igbos being physically attacked. E-money, however, thinks highly and powerfully of MC. @MairoEnoch Can someone explain to me what that video we just watched means? I’m perplexed.

The Okonkwo brothers have drawn criticism from a number of people, including the seasoned musician, for their most recent action.

Like Charly Boy, the criticism has been directed at Oluomo’s actions during the recently concluded general elections in Nigeria.

During the elections, a video of Oluomo threatening non-APC voters to stay at home on election day if they weren’t going to vote for his preferred party went viral, further pushing the tribalistic narrative that permeated the ether at the time.
