Bill Gates, an American business magnate, claimed that his 20-year-old youngest daughter, Phoebe, was eager to see Burna Boy and Rema when he visited Nigeria.

On Wednesday, he made this statement during the opening remarks of an event in Lagos State.

Gates and Aliko Dangote visited President Bola Tinubu on Monday, according to a source.

The Gates Foundation is dedicated to collaborating closely with communities and leaders to foster innovation, and the visit was a part of that commitment.

Gates revealed Phoebe’s excitement about his trip to Nigeria and the potential to meet Afrobeats artists like Burna Boy and Rema.

“When my daughter Phoebe heard I was coming to Nigeria, she said, “You’re lucky because you get to see Burna Boy and Rema, so I had to look them up…because I’m so ‘hip’. But I remember the last time I was here, I got to see Davido & Wizkid perform,” the philanthropist said.

Gates continued by stating that Nigeria is home to many creative individuals and that Afrobeats are well-liked worldwide.

Naturally, given that I’m in Nigeria, I can’t help but draw attention to the incredible inventiveness that exists in this country.Nigerian afrobeats are well-liked worldwide. You’re lucky to go meet Burna Boy and Rema, my daughter Phoebe told me when she heard I was traveling to Nigeria,” he remarked.

He continued by recalling seeing Davido and Wizkid perform during his previous trip to Nigeria.

But I also recall that I saw Davido and Wizkid play the last time I was here, and I was quite impressed. My kids believe I’ve moved to a very hip location, he continued.
