GABON COUP LEADERS PRAISE HEAD OF PRESIDENTIAL GUARD AFTER PUTSCH
Hundreds of troops held Brice Oligui Nguema, the commander of the presidential guard for Gabon, aloft on Wednesday, hours after rebel officers claimed to have overthrown President Ali Bongo Ondimba, according to footage seen on state television.
Following a press release informing the public that Bongo was placed under house arrest, the video of troops yelling “Oligui president” was continuously screened.
