According to Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), maintaining coordinated air, ground, and marine strikes against terrorists, insurgents, economic saboteurs, and other non-state actors in the nation is the best way to honour members of the Nigerian Armed Forces who have given their all in the country’s defence.

Just as the country gets ready to mark the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, the CAS made this statement while praising the Air Component Commanders of the numerous joint theatres of action in the nation for the string of successful airstrikes carried out since the beginning of the year 2024.

“As recent as 13 January 2024, air interdiction strikes by the air component of Operation Hadin Kai at Tumbunma Baba near Lake Chad, proved successful as several terrorists were eliminated and their vehicles and structures destroyed,” NAF spokesman said in a statement on Sunday.

Air Marshal Abubakar stated that although the nation as a whole will never be able to repay the fallen heroes, efforts must be made to restore peace and tranquilly in all regions of the nation in order to bring the nation back to the peaceful past that the fallen heroes’ devotion and commitment made possible.

He said, “We have no excuse not to deliver on our mandate as the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led Federal Government has provided the wherewithal for us to succeed. We must, therefore, continue to sustain the momentum of our operations and give our citizens the confidence they require to go about their businesses without fear.”

The CAS also urged all Nigerians to keep showing the fallen heroes and their families their appreciation, goodwill, solidarity, and unwavering prayers.
