A lagos High court sitting has adjourned the trial of Andrew Nice Ominikoron, a BRT bus Driver who was alleged to have raped and murdered a 22-year-old fashion designer because his counsel, Abayomi Omotubora is yet to serve the Prosecuting team their no-case submission file.

When the matter was called before Justice Sherifat Sonaike on Tuesday, M. A Olateju, informed the court that at the last sitting, the defence counsel hinted the court that he would be filing a no-case submission.

Mr Abayomi, a representative from the Abayomi Omotubora chambers, stated that the reason why the prosecution has not been served is because the filing has not been completed.

“We need a little time in order to complete filing. All that is left to be done is just scanning and that will be done as soon as possible,” Abayomi told the court.

Mr Olateju however, suggested a further date to enable the defense to file it’s no-case submission properly.

Justice Sonaike after hearing the plea, adjourned the matter till 8th of February for defense to adopt its no-case submission.

Late Bamise Ayanwola went missing while returning to Ota from Ajah on Saturday, February 26, 2022, after boarding a BRT bus.

The defendant, Andrew Nice Ominnikoron, aaaà is facing a five-count charge bordering on rape, conspiracy, felony and murder preferred against him by the Lagos State Government.
