KADUNA: EL-RUFAI’S ALLY, AISHA GALADIMA ACCUSES DSS OF ASSAULT, HARASSMENT FOLLOWING RELEASE
Former Kaduna State governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai’s political ally, Aisha Galadima, who was detained by the Department of State Services (DSS), claims she was beaten and harassed while under detention.
Following her release from the security agency’s custody, the chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, made the accusation.
Due to a post on her Facebook page criticizing the state governor, Uba Sani, Galadima was taken into custody in Kaduna.
Reports revealed earlier that she was picked up and whisked away from her residence on Sunday afternoon.
The arrest was confirmed by one of her brothers, who said, “Aisha has just been arrested by DSS at her Tudun Wada residence in Kaduna.”
Confirming her release, the APC chieftain said she was harassed and beaten by DSS operatives.
Addressing newsmen, Galadima said she was inside her room when four DSS operatives came to drag her out.
“I was inside my room about to take my bath when they came in and dragged me out. I saw four of their Hilux vehicles outside the gate. They pushed me inside and drove away,” she said.
According to her, the DSS accused her of making a post against Kaduna State governor, Uba Sani, in February.
It is believed that Aisha Galadima’s arrest is connected to the face-off between El-Rufai and his successor, Governor Uba Sani.
The governor recently alleged that El-Rufai left behind a huge debt burden for his administration.
