TINUBU AWARDS NATIONAL HONOURS TO KUDIRAT ABIOLA, WOLE SOYINKA, KEN SARO-WIWA, OTHERS (FULL LIST)

President Bola Tinubu on Thursday conferred national honours on several distinguished Nigerians as part of activities commemorating Democracy Day.
The announcement was made during his State of the Nation address at the joint session of the National Assembly.
Among the recipients was the late Kudirat Abiola, who was posthumously awarded the title of Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR).
Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka was honoured with the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON).
Also recognised posthumously were Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, environmental activist Ken Saro-Wiwa, and other members of the Ogoni Nine.
Tinubu also granted them a presidential pardon.

“Additionally, I confer the national honour of CON on Uncle Sam Amuka Pemu, a legendary journalist and publisher who remains true to his lifetime calling as he marks his 90th birthday tomorrow, June 13.”
