The Nigeria Police Force has extended the enforcement grace period for the Tinted Glass Permit requirement to August 12, 2025, in response to widespread public feedback.

Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, announced the extension in a statement released Saturday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, noting the need to make the application process more user-friendly and accessible.

The statement emphasized the NPF’s dedication to “transparent, inclusive, and citizen-focused policing,” adding that the extension comes as part of ongoing technical and policy reviews of the permit system.

The police explained that the additional time would allow for further improvements to both physical and digital application procedures, including better verification processes and shorter processing times.

“The Force has not ignored the voices of Nigerians. Rather, these voices have been instrumental in guiding ongoing reviews of the process to ensure it remains user-friendly, secure, and accessible to all,” the statement said.

Nigerians are encouraged to apply for or renew their tinted glass permits solely through the official portal and to promptly report any cases of extortion or unauthorized fees encountered during the process.

The Police reiterated their commitment to public safety, digital transformation, and enhanced service delivery, while calling for continued public support and cooperation as the reform process unfolds.
