GOVT COLLEGE IBADAN OLD BOYS' ASSOCIATION IBADAN BRANCH HOLDS 2025 ANNUAL LUNCHEON AND PRESENTATION OF AWARDS

The 2025 version of the Government College Ibadan Old Boys’ Association (GCIOBA) Ibadan branch annual banquet and awards presentation is scheduled for Sunday, 2 PM, June 29, 2025, at Felicia Hall, Jogor Center, off Liberty Stadium Road, Ring Road Ibadan.

This premier occasion of the GCIOBA Ibadan Branch guarantees to be a truly unforgettable experience, meticulously organized to evoke memories of the past, cultivate new relationships, and promote lasting camaraderie among Old Boys, their Young Girls, and esteemed guests.

The event will be kicked of by a lecture titled, TAXATION ON EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES. This will be delivered by the Nation’s Chief Tax officer, Dr Zacch Adelabu Adedeji, the Executive Chairman of the FIRS.

The President of GCIOBA, Dr. ‘Wale Babalakin (1971), will be the Chief Host of the occasion, ably supported by the Chairman, Ibadan Branch, Akin Orowale (1968).

The Royal Father of the day is HRM Oba Olajide Olufemi Adekanye Loye (1976,Swanston), the LOYE of Igigun Oodua Ijesha Land. Oba Loye is a distinguished Old Boy of Government College Ibadan, and his presence at the luncheon will add to the glamour and prestige that comes with the occasion. Royalty, laced with culture, and tradition will be on display, with his presence.

The Chairman of the occasion is High Chief Akinola Soname (1967 set),a distinguished and illustrious Old Boy of Government College Ibadan as well.

Other highlights of the event are presentations of awards to deserving Old Boys, Institution(s), Class Set(s), raffle draw, good music, sumptuous meals and drinks, renditions of House Songs, etc.

The event will showcase ongoing efforts of the GCIOBA in her cooperation with Oyo State Government, towards repositioning GCI as the premier secondary in Nigeria.

In a press statement, the Association promised that the event will be a fulfilling and exciting one.
