BLUES REMOVE ROSENIOR AFTER SCORELESS LOSING STREAK

Chelsea have dismissed manager Liam Rosenior following a poor run of results that left the club struggling in the Premier League.
Rosenior joined the Blues on a five-and-a-half-year contract after leaving French side RC Strasbourg Alsace, a club also linked to Chelsea ownership under Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.
During his time in charge, Rosenior recorded 11 wins in 23 matches across all competitions. Chelsea’s recent 3-0 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. marked their fifth straight league defeat without scoring — the club’s longest scoreless league streak since 1912.
Following the defeat, Rosenior labelled the display “indefensible” and “unacceptable” amid criticism from travelling supporters.
The result dropped Chelsea to seventh place in the Premier League standings, seven points behind fifth-placed Liverpool F.C., who currently occupy the final Champions League qualification spot.

In a statement, Chelsea said the decision to part ways with Rosenior was made after careful consideration, citing performances that failed to meet expectations despite important fixtures remaining.
Reports suggest the club is considering several candidates for the managerial role, including Andoni Iraola of AFC Bournemouth, Marco Silva of Fulham F.C., and former Borussia Dortmund coach Edin Terzić.
Assistant coach Calum McFarlane has been appointed interim manager until the end of the season.
McFarlane previously stepped in on a temporary basis earlier in the campaign following the departure of former manager Enzo Maresca.
Chelsea said it would undertake a careful review process to appoint a long-term manager capable of bringing stability to the club.
Rosenior secured five wins in 13 league matches and guided Chelsea to the semi-finals of the FA Cup, defeating lower-league opposition along the way.
McFarlane’s first match in charge will come against Leeds United F.C. at Wembley Stadium in an FA Cup semi-final clash.
