FEMALE PASSENGER KILLED, MOTORCYCLIST INJURED IN OGUN ROAD CRASH

A tragic crash along Igan Road in the Ago-Iwoye area of Ogun State has claimed the life of a female passenger and left a motorcyclist with varying degrees of injuries.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday and involved a red Toyota Camry (registration number JJJ 168 GY) and a red Bajaj motorcycle (registration number KNN 873 ZY).
Confirming the accident, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE), Babatunde Akinbiyi, said reckless driving on the part of the Toyota Camry driver led to a head-on collision with the oncoming motorcycle.
“One female died and one male was injured,” Akinbiyi stated, adding that traffic was partially disrupted but was quickly managed by TRACE operatives and other sister agencies.
He noted that the damaged vehicles were promptly evacuated from the scene and moved to the police facility for further investigation.
This latest incident comes on the heels of two other fatal road crashes reported on Tuesday along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Two lives were lost in a morning crash at the Straight Gate section, while a container-laden truck accident near the Otedola Bridge caused prolonged gridlock for commuters.
Authorities continue to urge motorists to drive responsibly to avoid needless loss of life and property on Nigerian roads.
