LAGOS SETS JULY 26 FOR 2025 UBE PLACEMENT TEST FOR PRIMARY SIX PUPILS
The Lagos State Government has announced that the 2025 Universal Basic Education (UBE) Placement Test for Primary Six pupils will hold on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. prompt across designated centres in the state.
The examination, which will be based on Continuous Assessment Scores (CAS), is aimed at facilitating the seamless transition of pupils from primary to junior secondary school, in line with the government’s education policy.
According to a statement issued by Mrs. Abisola Dokunmu-Adegbite, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, the Placement Test is intended for pupils in public and approved private primary schools in Lagos State.
Mrs. Dokunmu-Adegbite emphasized that the use of Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets and CAS ensures a fair and objective evaluation of pupils’ academic performance. She noted that school representatives are expected to accompany pupils to their designated exam centers, stressing the need for cooperation among all stakeholders to guarantee the success of the exercise.
Reiterating the Ministry’s commitment to the “Leave No Child Behind” principle, she encouraged pupils to approach the test with seriousness and confidence, describing the assessment as a key milestone in their academic journey.
The government also acknowledged the vital role of parents, guardians, and school administrators, appreciating their unwavering support in fostering a smooth and effective learning experience for all pupils in the state.
