Nigeria’s Super Falcons have booked their spot in the semi-finals of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations with a dominant 5-0 win over Zambia in Friday’s quarter-final encounter.

Osinachi Ohale got Nigeria off to a flying start, heading in from a set-piece in just the 2nd minute.

The 11-time champions doubled their advantage when Esther Okoronkwo calmly finished off a cross from Rasheedat Ajibade.

Chinwendu Ihezuo made it 3-0, latching onto a long pass from goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie and finishing with composure.

Nigeria kept the pressure on in the second half, controlling possession and stretching Zambia’s defence. Shortly after the restart, Okoronkwo delivered a precise free kick that Tosin Demehin powerfully headed into the net.

The final blow came from debutant Folashade Ijamilusi, who tapped in a low cross from Ajibade to score her first goal for the Super Falcons.

With the emphatic victory, Nigeria advances to the semi-finals and moves a step closer to a record-extending 12th WAFCON title.
