The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested 26 individuals for allegedly engaging in immoral activities at the Grace Palace Hotel near Bukabu Barrack in the Kano metropolis.

The board’s Deputy Commander General, Dr. Mujahid Aminuddeen, confirmed the arrests in a telephone interview on Monday, stating that the operation was carried out on Saturday following multiple complaints from concerned members of the public.

According to Aminuddeen, the suspects include 14 females and 12 males. He noted that many of them were found intoxicated, and several cartons of assorted alcoholic beverages were confiscated during the raid.

“The 26 persons were arrested during an operation at Grace Palace Hotel near Bukabu Barrack in Kano. We appreciate the support of the military authorities and their commander for the cooperation that made the operation successful,” he said.

The Hisbah official urged residents to continue reporting such activities, whether in hotels or residential areas, to enable timely intervention.

He also stressed that the operation was part of an ongoing effort by the board to curb immoral behaviour and uphold public decency across the state.
