Renowned South African rapper David Junior Ngcobo, commonly known as Nasty C, has disclosed his intention to alter his stage name.

In an open interview with Madame Joyce in London, the ‘Coolest Kid In Africa’ artist revealed that his stage name lacks significance, emphasizing that it was merely a combination of letters.

He further acknowledged that he fabricated a narrative regarding his initial producer referring to him as “Nasty Cat,” which supposedly influenced his stage name, asserting that he simply desired a backstory for the name.

Madame Joyce inquired: “What is the origin of the name Nasty C? ”

Nasty C responded: “It’s arbitrary. I merely amalgamated a collection of letters and began forming words from it, then I selected that one. I have no understanding [of the meaning of the name or what it signifies]; I don’t know.

“There’s a tale I used to share with people. The first individual to ever record me was quite close to my older brother. He was in a session, and I was meant to follow next. He was informing the individual he had just recorded, ‘Yo, there’s this kid blablabal. He’s really talented. He’s a Nasty Cat.’ I then removed the ‘AT’ from Cat to create ‘Nasty C.’

“However, it is untrue. I simply wanted a narrative and aimed to reference that individual’s name because he genuinely assisted me at the beginning of my career. My stage name is simply a vibe. I wish to change it now.”
