Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Tuoyo Ideh, has accused operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) of assaulting him during a midnight raid on a nightclub in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The incident reportedly occurred in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, at Proxy Nightclub, located on Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island. NDLEA officials had stormed the venue as part of an operation targeting alleged drug-related activities.

According to the NDLEA, more than 100 clubgoers, including Tuoyo and Lagos socialite Pretty Mike (Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu), were arrested during the raid. The agency said it recovered various substances suspected to be cannabis (known locally as loud) and canisters of nitrous oxide, popularly referred to as laughing gas, from the premises.

Tuoyo, however, denied any involvement in illegal activities and accused the NDLEA of using excessive force.

In a video posted on his Instagram page, the reality TV star alleged that armed officers burst into the club, ordered everyone to lie on the floor, seized their phones, and held them for hours without explanation.

“We were over 150 people. They came in with guns, told everyone to lie down, and took our phones. We didn’t commit any crime,” Tuoyo said, displaying bruises on his arms and chest.

He described the treatment as “dehumanising and unfair,” adding that he sustained injuries to his chest, legs, and head during the raid.

As of the time of this report, the NDLEA had not responded to Tuoyo’s allegations of brutality. However, the agency confirmed that those arrested were taken in for questioning and screening as part of an ongoing investigation.

The incident has sparked mixed reactions online, with many Nigerians calling for accountability and respect for citizens’ rights during security operations.

Tuoyo, who gained fame during the Big Brother Naija “Pepper Dem” season, urged the NDLEA to review its operational methods to prevent further incidents of harassment or abuse.
