The Senate on Thursday ratified Dr. Bernard Doro as the minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Doro‘s evaluation, which endured for under 30 minutes, witnessed legislators convey assurance in his expertise and leadership abilities.
The Plateau-native technocrat, who is now the third minister from his state in the present administration, committed to advancing equity and openness in Nigeria‘s humanitarian initiatives.
“I will create a humanitarian ecosystem that is inclusive, guided by impartiality and independence,” Doro assured senators during the session.
Pleased with his qualifications and perspective, the legislators requested him to acknowledge the audience and depart, approving his nomination without dissent.
Tinubu had previously communicated to the Senate seeking Doro’s confirmation in accordance with Section 147 (2) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended). Senate President Godswill Akpabio presented the letter during the session and directed it to the Committee of the Whole for prompt consideration.
Doro’s nomination came after the elevation of his predecessor, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, who now serves as the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Born on January 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State, Doro possesses degrees in Pharmacy and Law, an MBA in IT-driven business strategy, and a Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice.
“He is an Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner with NHS frontline experience across urgent care, walk-in centers, GP practices, and hospital environments,” Onanuga remarked.
With the confirmation on Thursday, Doro is anticipated to be inaugurated as a member of the Federal Executive Council at the subsequent meeting.
