Celebrity chef Hilda Effiong Bassey, popularly known as Hilda Baci, has officially received her Guinness World Records (GWR) plaque for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, marking her second world record achievement.

The 29-year-old chef unveiled the plaque on Thursday while dressed in her signature white chef outfit, sharing the moment on Instagram alongside her 2023 plaque for the longest cooking marathon.

“Our plaques are finally here! Two records. Two plaques. One story of faith, fire, and history. Twice, God showed up for me. Twice, we made history for Nigeria,” she wrote.

Hilda expressed gratitude to her supporters and collaborators, especially Gino Nigeria, noting that their partnership created a story that “reached billions and reminded the world what passion and purpose can achieve.”

“I’m a two-time world record holder. Someone pinch me,” she added, quoting Isaiah 61:7 to celebrate her double victory.

In the comment section, Guinness World Records congratulated her, writing: “Fantastic photos! Congratulations again, Hilda.”

The award comes after her successful attempt on September 12, 2025, to set the record for the largest pot of jollof rice, during the Gino World Jollof Festival with Hilda Baci at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Over 8,780 kilograms of Nigerian-style jollof rice were cooked during the eight-hour event, using 4,000kg of basmati rice, 500 cartons of tomato concentrate, 750kg of cooking oil, and 600kg of onions in a six-metre-wide steel pot.

The event attracted thousands of spectators, including Funke Akindele, Tomike Adeoye, Alex Unusual, Spyro, and Ogun State First Lady, Bamidele Abiodun.

Despite a brief scare when the pot cover slipped during weighing, the record attempt was successfully completed, with meals distributed to more than 20,000 attendees.

Confirming the feat on September 15, 2025, Guinness World Records stated that Hilda prepared 8,780 kilograms (19,356 lb 9 oz) of jollof rice, meeting all verification standards, including ingredient ratios and food distribution requirements to avoid waste.

Reflecting on her achievement, Hilda said,

“It took a lot of hard work, but achieving the record is truly satisfying. This record also belongs to the people of Nigeria.”

Her latest recognition follows her 2023 Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), when she cooked for 93 hours and 11 minutes in Lekki, Lagos — an event that earned her international acclaim and solidified her as a global culinary icon.
