AFCON 2025: CAF TO PROVIDE FREE E-VISAS FOR FANS IN MOROCCO
The Confederation of African Football and the Local Organising Committee for AFCON Morocco 2025 announced on Friday that attendees traveling to the tournament will qualify for complimentary electronic visas.
This initiative benefits nationals of nations that usually necessitate a visa to enter Morocco.
“Electronic visas for entry into Morocco — obtained via the YALLA app — are now provided free of charge for supporters attending the event, which is scheduled from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026,” stated CAF on its official website.
The governing body noted that this announcement arrives amid increasing global interest in Africa’s premier football event, with a growing number of fans purchasing tickets.
It clarified that supporters require two essential documents: a fan identification and an e-visa, to remain in Morocco and access football stadiums throughout the tournament.
“A Fan ID is obligatory for admission to all stadiums and designated Fan Areas. Supporters may apply for both the Fan ID and e-visa simultaneously within the YALLA app, enhancing travel convenience and stadium access.
“The application process for the Fan ID and e-visa is integrated seamlessly within the YALLA app, ensuring a quicker, simpler, and more secure experience for both international visitors and local fans,” the statement continued.
To apply, fans are encouraged to download the YALLA app from Google Play or the App Store, or visit the official YALLA website, complete the Fan ID application, and, if necessary, submit the e-visa request.
Upon approval, supporters may purchase match tickets through the CAF ticketing platform.
“The new protocols are designed to provide a smooth, secure fan experience for Africa’s premier event, which will take place across nine stadiums in six cities,” CAF noted.
With Morocco hosting for the first time since 1988, the continent’s largest football celebration returns to North Africa amidst heightened expectations, intense rivalries, and a new wave of African talent eager to make an impact.
A total of 24 teams are anticipated to participate.
