KEBBI GOVERNOR RECEIVES 25 RESCUED MAGA SCHOOLGIRLS, SAYS NO RANSOM PAID

Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has confirmed the safe return of the 25 Maga schoolgirls abducted by gunmen, stating that no ransom was paid to secure their release.
Speaking after receiving the girls, Idris said they were rescued in good health through a coordinated operation ordered by President Bola Tinubu.
“No Kobo was paid. The military, DSS and other security forces combed the forest and rescued them unhurt,” the governor said.
He expressed gratitude to the Nigerian military, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the police for their efforts.
Governor Idris also thanked President Tinubu for his commitment to the safe recovery of the students and for ongoing efforts to strengthen national security.
He acknowledged the prayers of clerics and the support shown by notable figures, including Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the Inspector General of Police, who visited the state during the crisis.
The governor praised the parents of the schoolgirls for their patience and confidence in the government throughout the rescue operation.
