TRANSPORT MINISTER MOURNS DEATH OF 5 PERSONS IN LPG TRUCK MISHAP

On Monday, January 12, 2026, a deadly traffic accident involving a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tanker in Lawanti village, Akko Local Government Area, Gombe State, claimed the lives of five people.
The LPG tanker allegedly crashed into victims in the Lawanti hamlet along the Bauchi–Gombe route, causing immediate deaths and multiple injuries.
Residents have described the catastrophe as surprising and terrible, and it has left the town in grief. Senator Said Alkali, the Minister of Transportation, responded to the tragedy by offering his sincere sympathies to the residents of Lawanti district, especially the families of the five victims who perished.
