TINUBU/SHETTIMA ZAMFARA YOUTH LEADER ABDUCTED BY SUSPECTED BANDITS
Bashir Isa Gusau, the Youth Leader of the Tinubu/Shettima campaign organisation in Zamfara State, has reportedly been abducted by gunmen suspected to be bandits.
According to a social media post by security analyst Bakatsine on Thursday, Gusau was taken from his home in Gusau town in the presence of his wife, leaving his family in distress. The post claimed that over 30 armed men stormed his residence and forcibly whisked him away.
Bakatsine noted that security agencies were immediately alerted, but efforts to locate Gusau have so far been unsuccessful. Expressing concern over the rising violence in the state, the analyst questioned how long residents of Zamfara would continue to live under the persistent threat of banditry, lamenting that no positive response had been received despite notifying the authorities.
“Gunmen suspected to be bandits abducted Ambassador Bashir Isa Gusau, North-West Youth Leader of Tinubu/Shettima, Zamfara Chapter. Over 30 armed men stormed his home in Gusau and abducted him in the presence of his wife. Security agencies were alerted, but there has been no trace of him yet. How long will these bandit attacks continue?” he wrote.
As of press time, there has been no official statement from security authorities regarding the incident.
