The development was contained in a statement issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akoshile.

According to the statement, the governor also presented 20 vehicles to facilitate the coordinators’ operations in their respective Local Government Areas.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony held at 10 Degrees Event Centre, Oregun, Ikeja, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu stated that the initiative was designed to enhance public understanding of the reforms and accomplishments of the Tinubu administration, stressing that it was not intended as a political campaign.

Describing the initiative as a reaffirmation of shared conviction, Governor Sanwo-Olu said it represented a collective commitment to the Renewed Hope vision championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He announced the appointment of Local Government coordinators for the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Lagos, explaining that they were selected to promote and highlight the achievements of the Tinubu administration.

The governor emphasised that the project was not intended to commence any political campaign, but rather to raise public awareness of the administration’s accomplishments over the past three years. He added that the ambassadors would engage residents at the grassroots level, moving from neighbourhood to neighbourhood to communicate the President’s commitments and the progress recorded so far, ensuring that the message reaches citizens in their respective languages.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu stated that the initiative would prioritise grassroots mobilisation, public sensitisation and direct engagement with communities across Lagos State.

He credited recent economic gains to the Federal Government’s reform agenda, noting that a combination of fiscal and monetary policies had helped stabilise key economic indicators. According to him, the financial restructuring undertaken by the Tinubu administration has significantly reduced the nation’s debt burden and strengthened the foreign exchange market. He added that workers are now benefiting from a new minimum wage and enhanced welfare packages, while food prices have continued to decline.

Sanwo-Olu also referenced major infrastructure projects being executed by the Federal Government, including the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Sokoto-Badagry Highway. He observed that the 700-kilometre Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway had progressed beyond 400 kilometres and was advancing steadily toward completion, while work on the Sokoto-Badagry Highway was ongoing as promised.

Meanwhile, the Governor’s Chief of Staff, Tayo Ayinde, who was appointed to coordinate the activities of the ambassadors, described the movement as a civic engagement platform rather than a political campaign structure.

Ayinde urged the coordinators to promote government programmes responsibly and serve as a vital link between citizens and public policy initiatives.

He stated that the coordinators would be tasked with disseminating information on government policies and national developments across markets, tertiary institutions and local communities.

The event was attended by party leaders, members of the Governance Advisory Council, cabinet members, legislators, traditional rulers, representatives of traders’ associations and youth groups.
